Turn-Around Management Contract of Kenya Power and Light
This two year management services contract required MHI to take over complete management authority for this 850,000 customer electric utility. MHI has provided a team of key staff to Kenya Power and Light (KPLC) in the roles of General Manager and CEO, Deputy General Manager Distribution and Customer Service, Deputy General Manager Finance and Corporate Services (CFO), and a Deputy General Manager Energy Transmission. MHI has also carried out various studies aimed at identifying and implementing improvements in operations management and the organizations technical capacity. During the contract, KPLC accomplished some distinct performance targets. Some of those targets include the connection of approximately 261, 000 new customers, reduction of system losses by 2%, and improvement of the quality of power supply to customers.
