Implementation of Pre-paid Metering Systems

With a goal of improving revenue streams within the Distribution Zone, MHI was responsible for the installation and on-going management of 135,000 prepaid meters, supporting vending, management, and communications infrastructure and software for the Port Harcourt Distribution Company

In association with a local investor, responsibilities include:

• Procurement and shipping of prepaid meters, statistical metering, and related supporting infrastructure utilizing an approved investment plan of USD 30M. 
• Sourcing and capacity building of local contractors to enable the installation of 135,000 prepaid meters within the contract area.
• Deployment of vending and communications infrastructure to support the ongoing operations of 135,000 meters within a large geographical area. 
• On-going management of the revenue cycle and customer care on behalf of the Distribution Company.
